Canon EOS 1000D Rebel XS to replace 400D

Listen to article

Canon EOS 1000D

Canon REBEL XS simply a beautiful experience
I spent several weeks reviewing the REBEL XS vs it’s many 10 MP adversaries, I even checked it against the ultra zooms as I wanted the convenience of video as well, but too many good things stood out with this camera and so I decided upon it.

I had my rebel xs for years now and I have been great. Though I have contemplated many times on buying something of higher end, but this is all that I need for my lifestyle; plus bigger and better cameras can really be a burden on the pockets.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Naresearch kong mas feminine ang dating nung Nikon 3000, tsaka may ‘Guide mode’ for beginner.

Sir Yuga, which one do you prefer in terms of “user-friendly-ness” and durability? This one (Canon EOS 1000D), or Nikon D3000. I know it’s all depend on the user, pero ikaw po ba, san ka mas at ease? Thanks!

Correction, the 1000D is not a replacement for the 400D, but it creates a new bracket lower than the 400D geared towards newbies and people who wants to get into the hobby. There’s no point comparing this one to the 400 or the 450D.

I’m curious why Canon has decided to do away with the Compact Flash card (CF Card) in favor of the SD card which they also did with the 450D.

The lower end DSLRs will probably use SDs from now on. Both Canon and Nikon are trying to get P&S owners to switch to DSLRs, and since their own P&S models use SD cards, they assume that these users will already have a few SD cards on hand. Part of the cost of the DSLR is the switch from your current memory card format to CF – Nikon eliminated that cost with their low-end units, and now Canon has followed suit.

Of course the 450D wins. Megapixels pa lang eh. But the selling factor here is the price. IS lens and Digic III? The 400D is owned. The 400D might become cheaper still.

I’ve been comparing the specs between this and 450D. It seems like 450D wins. Unless I missed something.

Hopefully, someone can come up with a comparison review. :D
